Stephen Jackson is one person the Golden State Warriors consider part of their long term plans. Golden State has signed its leading scorer to a 3 year contract extension revealed on Monday, a deal that takes the explosive guard forward through the 2012-13 season.

Stephen Jackson tied the game late in regulation and scored 6 of his 30 points in overtime, leading the Golden State Warriors back from a poor 4th quarter to beat the hapless Timberwolves 113-110 on Tuesday night. Jackson hit a 3 pointer with 2:16 left in the extra session and the Warriors sent the Timberwolves to their 6th straight loss.

By the time the Warriors open the regular season a week from today, Stephen Jackson expects to have a new contract in hand. Jackson said Tuesday that extension talks with Warriors President Robert Rowell were progressing smoothly and thinks it is a matter of when, and not if the 2 sides reach an agreement.

The Warriors got their 2nd dose of bad news this offseason when they discovered Monta Ellis will miss at least a month of the upcoming season with an ankle injury. Chris Mullin mentioned training camp was going to be an important part of Ellis' development as a point guard, however Ellis was going to get help bringing the ball up court from Stephen Jackson and Marcus Williams.

The Heat had half a team, and even less of a chance against the Golden State Warriors. Stephen Jackson scored 22 points, Baron Davis had 15 points and 10 assists and the Warriors eased past the severely short-handed Heat 134-99 Friday, handing Miami its largest loss of a dismal season.

Golden State coach Don Nelson had no trouble putting together a game plan against the Atlanta Hawks. Baron Davis scored 35 points and Stephen Jackson had 29 to lead the Golden State to its 4th straight win, 135-118 over Atlanta Tuesday.

Baron Davis heard boos every time he touched the ball, right up until he sent the crowd to the exits with a game-sealing 3 pointer. Stephen Jackson scored 26 points, Davis added 23, and the Golden State Warriors beat New Orleans 116-103 Wednesday night to snap the Hornets' 9 game winning streak. "Nobody likes to get booed", Davis said.

On a night when his team struggled from beyond the arc, Stephen Jackson made a pair of huge 3 pointers late in the 4th quarter to rescue the resurgent Golden State Warriors. Jackson made 2 3 pointers in a 20 2nd span and Monta Ellis had 22 points to rally the Warriors to a 103-96 win Wednesday night over the Kings.

With Stephen Jackson back from suspension, the NBA's highest scoring team has another valuable option. Jackson scored 17 points, Andris Biedrins had 15 points and 14 rebounds and the Golden State Warriors beat the Toronto Raptors 106-100 Sunday.
