The Rockets expect to trim their roster and their bloated collection of forwards today by dealing Steve Novak to the L.A Clippers, an individual with knowledge of the deal said. The Rockets will receive future draft considerations from L.A. This will probably include the right to switch places with the Clippers in a 2nd round.

The L.A Clippers acquired Steve Novak, a forward who can shoot from the perimeter, in a deal with the Houston Rockets Wednesday. In return, the Rockets will have the option to exchange 2nd round picks with the Clippers in the 2011 NBA draft. Last season, his 2nd in the NBA, the 6 foot 10, 220 pound Novak averaged 3.9 points whilst playing in 35 games for Houston.

The Houston Rockets enter the All Star break with an 8 game winning streak thanks to a clutch shot by Steve Novak. Novak hit a 3 pointer, his only field goal of the game, with 2 seconds left to lead the Rockets to an 89-87 win over the Kings Wednesday.

The Lakers are contemplating a deal involving the Rockets Luther Head in exchange for power forward Brian Cook. The new Rockets coaching staff also appears to like the offense 6-10 forward Steve Novak will bring, and the Rockets have the means to finagle salary cap room by dealing guard Bob Sura.
