Theo Ratliff returned to the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday, 7 years after he was traded from the team during its run to the NBA Finals. The 35 year old Ratliff played 26 games for Minnesota and Detroit and appeared in 12 of the Pistons' 17 playoff games. Terms of Ratliff's deal with the Sixers were not disclosed.

In what should be the final move of a hectic summer, the Sixers expect to add veteran center Theo Ratliff. According to a source familiar with the situation, the 6 foot 10 Ratliff has had taken a one year contract for the veterans' minimum of $1.4 million. Ratliff, 35, had offers for more money however would prefer playing for the Sixers, the source said.

It is on now, at least verbally. Whether the Magic can make any significant adjustments on the court to reverse their fortunes in Game 2 tonight remains to be seen, however they certainly have amped up their bravado. Rashard Lewis had taken exception to a comment made by Theo Ratliff Sunday.

Timberwolves center Theo Ratliff will have exploratory arthroscopic surgery next week on his right knee that has kept him out for the past month. Ratliff will have the operation done Tuesday by surgeon Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. the team said Thursday.

2 league sources mentioned the Sonics are calling around the league to gauge interest in guard Ray Allen. KJR AM radio reported that the Sonics offered Allen to the Boston Celtics for the 5th pick and Theo Ratliff.
