LA Lakers center Pau Gasol scored 20 points to lead world champion Spain to a 72-59 triumph against Croatia Wednesday in men's basketball. Felipe Reyes added 13 points for Spain, whilst Toronto Raptors point guard Jose Calderon added 10. Gasol also had a game high 10 rebounds. Marko Banic had 15 points to lead Croatia.

The Toronto Raptors signed Croatian guard Roko Ukic to a 3 year deal Wednesday. Ukic, who was the Raptors' 2nd round pick (41st) in the 2005 draft, played in Italy last season with Lottomatica Virtus Roma. He averaged 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 19 games, shooting 54.5 percent from the field.

Jose Calderon reached a "preliminary agreement" Tuesday to remain with the Toronto Raptors for another season. The 26 year old Spanish guard wrote on his website that his agent and the Raptors had reached a deal. However, Toronto cannot officially announce the signing until July 9th.

A source familiar with the situation mentioned Wednesday night that the Heat already got overtures from the Raptors, Pacers, Clippers and several other teams concerning Shawn Marion, who is seeking the type of lucrative extension Heat President Pat Riley appears reluctant to consider.

The Pacers are trading 6 time All Star forward Jermaine O'Neal to the Toronto Raptors for point guard T.J. Ford, center Rasho Nesterovic, the 17th pick in the draft and a player to be determined. O'Neal said the trade Thursday, saying he was pleased with the move by team president Larry Bird.

2 people familiar with the situation mentioned the Pacers and Raptors have discussed trading Jermaine O'Neal for point guard T.J. Ford and center Rasho Nesterovic, whose contract expires after next season, and possibly Toronto's 1st round pick (No. 17) in Thursday's draft.

Sources said the Knicks (Eddy Curry or Zach Randolph), Pacers (Jermaine O'Neal) and Suns (Boris Diaw) have had some casual conversation with the Raptors concerning T.J. Ford.
