Everything the Knicks do now is about preparing for the Summer of LeBron. In July 2010, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Tracy McGrady and Tyson Chandler, among others, will be eligible for free agency. One Western Conference exec is convinced James' exit from Cleveland is inevitable. Unless it is a sign and trade, LeBron could get more money from the Cavaliers than any other team. The Knicks hold a decided edge over Cleveland and lots of other suitors due to the exposure and marketing opportunities the city offers.

Hornets center Tyson Chandler sprained his right ankle in the 1st quarter of New Orleans' preseason opener against the Golden State Warriors Sunday. Chandler sat out the rest of the game, however returned to the bench in his warmups to watch the 2nd half and stood without apparent pain to chat with teammates during timeouts.

^ New Orleans Hornets center Tyson Chandler has had taken an invitation to train with the U.S. national team in Las Vegas later this month, shortly before the team departs for the Olympics in China. "This will allow Tyson and the team to be better prepared in the event that he is needed", USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo mentioned Tuesday on USA Basketball's Web site.

The possibility of earning $80 million for 5 seasons did not catch Chris Paul's attention. The Hornets' All Star point guard was more interested in signing a shorter term extension that provided assurances that the team's core group, center Tyson Chandler and forwards David West and Peja Stojakovic, would remain together for the next 3 seasons.

The Hornets think Robert Horry could have intended to do what he did to David West. In another 2nd round, in another potentially series-changing moment, Horry had bumped into another guy with a bad back. Tyson Chandler summed up the mood of the locker room when asked if Horry's blow was intended for someone already with a bad back.

Tyson Chandler had a rare game without a basket, Peja Stojakovic did not hit one 3 pointer and David West had an awful shooting night whilst turning the ball over 3 times. The Hornets looked tense, stressed and sometimes lost on offense in their 100-80 Game 4 loss at San Antonio.

Tyson Chandler was perfect, and the New Orleans Hornets finished off a nearly perfect road trip. Chandler was 10 for 10 from the floor, and his 20 point, 10-rebound effort helped the Hornets remain atop the Western Conference standings with a 106-77 win over the Heat Wednesday.

Hornets coach Byron Scott called point guard Chris Paul a Hall of Famer in the making Monday night. Paul mentioned he was not ready for those credentials, however his teammate Tyson Chandler was quick to put him in the race for MVP.

New Orleans' latest win left everybody talking about Chris Paul, except Paul himself. He seemed more in awe of Tyson Chandler. Paul scored 27 points and had a hand in 3 clutch baskets in the final minutes, leading the Hornets to a 100-88 win over the New York Knicks Monday.

Hornets coach Byron Scott is campaigning for Chris Paul, David West and Tyson Chandler to make the NBA All Star game next month in New Orleans. His players can return the favor by winning enough to put Scott in the midseason extravaganza as well, and right now, they are pretty close to pulling it off.
