Larry Bird mentioned he expects to trade for or sign a power forward and has confidence he can trade point guard Jamaal Tinsley. The Pacers tried to solve both issues in one deal by offering Tinsley to Miami for power forward Udonis Haslem, however the Heat are reluctant to give up Haslem.

A Heat official mentioned several teams have expressed an interest in Udonis Haslem if Miami drafts and keeps Michael Beasley, which remains a strong possibility. Haslem maybe swapped for a point guard, with Kirk Hinrich, T.J. Ford and Mo Williams in play, and less appealing names ( Jamaal Tinsley, Jarrett Jack, Kyle Lowery) also available.

Pat Riley mentioned he does not think Heat players have stopped listening to him, though one backup player admitted, 'There are times you do not want to hear him.' Udonis Haslem agreed with Dwyane Wade that some players might not know all the defensive schemes. If true, that is unacceptable, however Riley mentioned he does not think that is true.

With time running out in a close game, Dwyane Wade was struggling and Shaquille O'Neal had fouled out. So the Heat turned to another duo, Udonis Haslem and Alonzo Mourning.

Take note of Dwyane Wade's comments the past 2 days, Wednesday, the superstar spoke of teaming with captain Udonis Haslem to restore the Heat culture, and Thursday mentioned Shaquille O'Neal requires to be "self-motivated".

Heat coach and president Pat Riley is now downplaying the possibility of getting Ron Artest; at the same time the interest is obviously there. He has called Sacramento to inquire. Certainly, Miami must have given up Udonis Haslem, and more.

Sacramento has not ruled out trading point guard Mike Bibby, and now views the Heat as a possible partner if it does, an NBA official said. The Heat would have given up Jason Williams, however whether Miami would move Udonis Haslem in such a deal is questionable.
