Have the Jazz ever considered bringing Karl Malone in to work with [Carlos] Boozer, [Memo] Okur and [Paul] Millsap? The Jazz would use the physical presence that Malone always gave their frontcourt, as well as his general determination to play rock-solid defense, especially at critical times of the game.

Jazz owner Larry Miller was released from the hospital Friday morning, nearly 2 months after having a heart attack and subsequent setbacks that he mentioned nearly killed him. The 64 year old Miller held a 90 minute news conference in which he described his heart attack, kidney failure and gastrointestinal bleeding that required 8 pints of blood transfusions.

Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony will be able to take part in opening night festivities at the Pepsi Center. According to a number of sources within the NBA, the Nuggets will start the 2008/2009 season with 2 Western Conference road games, that included the opener against the defending Northwest Division champion Jazz.

Carlos Boozer said during Team USA training camp that he plans to sign a contract extension with the Jazz when he becomes eligible to do so next summer. Whilst teammate Deron Williams downplayed the idea that he would use his time with Boozer at the Beijing Olympics to lobby the power forward to re-sign with the Jazz now that Williams has done so, "he knows I would like him here", Williams mentioned, Boozer good-naturedly spoke about spending "the next 4 years" with Williams in Utah".

Jason Hart returns to the L.A Clippers. The Clippers acquired the 30 year old local product from the Jazz Wednesday in exchange for Brevin Knight in a swap of point guards. "We are glad to have Jason back with us", GM Elgin Baylor mentioned in a statement.

e use our Rumors Form to send us your NBA Rumors Point guard Deron Williams signed a contract extension with Utah Friday that will keep him with the Jazz through at least the 2011-12 season. Williams, who still had one year left on the rookie contract he signed after the Jazz picked him 3rd overall in the 2005 NBA draft, signed a 3 year deal with a one year option.

Oklahoma City signed restricted free agent guard C.J. Miles to an offer sheet. Oklahoma city GM Sam Presti said the move Friday. Under terms of the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, Miles' current team, the Jazz, has 7 days to match the multiyear offer. Miles was the 34th player chosen in the 2005 draft, selected by Utah out of Skyline High School in Dallas.

As often as Carlos Boozer's name was mentioned in connection with the Heat, Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor mentioned Tuesday he has no interest in asking the NBA to conduct an investigation into probable tampering. O'Connor mentioned he has too much respect for Miami president Pat Riley and GM Randy Pfund to do so.
