Keep this name in mind, Vince Carter. Many observers around the league think the Nets will make the veteran shooting guard available at the trade deadline, and do not be surprised if the Cavaliers make another run at him. The question in Cleveland is whether Carter can set aside his ego and play 2nd fiddle with the Cavs.

Devin Harris' confidence is soaring, only like his scoring. Harris scored 33 points, Vince Carter had 29 and the New Jersey Nets beat the Atlanta Hawks 119-107 on Saturday night, completing a sweep of the two-day, home and home series. The Nets lost 3 straight whilst Harris was out with a sprained left ankle.

After his New Jersey Nets opened the season by beating the Wizards 95-85 behind Vince Carter's 21 points, coach Lawrence Frank praised all of his players and talked about how guys who did not even get in helped by being "supportive". Sure, Coach.

Brook Lopez has shown a shooter's mid-range touch. However, the Nets are attempting to channel another side of Lopez on the court. An aggressive, forceful inside side. "Just aggressive, it does not must be outlandish or anything", mentioned Vince Carter, who started squeezing that aspect out of Lopez when he got in the rookie's ear Sunday in London. Lopez went up and seemed to avoid contact.

As the Nets started to decline (the '03 Finals appearance was followed by a 2nd round exit in '04 and a 1st round sweep in '05) there appeared to be a rift forming between the core of the team, namely Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter, and management, specifically head coach Lawrence Frank and president Rod Thorn. Good players, particularly big players, were being allowed to leave with the Nets getting little or nothing in return.

Instead of heading into the season surrounded by familiar faces such as Richard Jefferson and Jason Kidd, Vince Carter must get accustomed to seeing Brook Lopez, Ryan Anderson and Chris Douglas-Roberts, the rookies, and Eduardo Najera, Jarvis Hayes and Keyon Dooling, the veteran additions, as well as Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons.

Allen Iverson's camp has formulated some strategy. However, will The Answer get the answer he wants? Gary Moore, personal manager for the Nuggets guard, mentioned Iverson is looking into doing something similar to what New Jersey's Vince Carter did last summer.

New Jersey Nets guard Vince Carter had surgery to remove a bone spur from his right ankle Wednesday. Dr. Martin O'Malley performed the surgery in New York, Nets president Rod Thorn said.

Change will be forthcoming for the Nets, however Rod Thorn stressed it does not mean a complete, total overhaul. He mentioned he could be "comfortable" if the 4 main offensive pieces, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, Devin Harris and Nenad Krstic, returned en masse.
