Forward Donyell Marshall will not be making the transfer to Oklahoma City with the SuperSonics. The 14 year NBA veteran was waived Wednesday by the Oklahoma City franchise, which still has not been renamed after its relocation last month. Marshall was acquired by the franchise from Cleveland in a 3 team trade in February that sent Wally Szczerbiak and Ben Wallace to the Cavaliers.

There is little love lost between Kevin Garnett and former teammate Wally Szczerbiak, who plays for the Cavaliers. The 2 played together in Minnesota for 6 1/2 seasons, before the Timberwolves traded Szczerbiak to the Celtics in 2006.

There is no charm in this 3rd time around for Damon Jones. As Cavaliers coach Mike Brown has tightened his rotation for the playoffs, he has again decided to stop playing Jones. There is only enough room for 4 players at the guard positions, and Brown is going with Delonte West, Daniel Gibson, Devin Brown and Wally Szczerbiak.

A newcomer to one of the NBA's fiercest rivalries, Wally Szczerbiak did not require long to understand Cleveland's hatred. "All my buddies, all the fans, everybody, all they would like to do is beat Detroit", he said.

The SuperSonics have had enough of their French connection and are offering Johan Petro and Mickael Gelabale. Seattle also would like to move Wally Szczerbiak and Damien Wilkins.

Wally Szczerbiak had taken the ball out of bounds, found no one open, and called timeout. Oops. His team had no timeouts left. That mistake with 15.1 seconds to play allowed the Suns to escape with a 103-99 win over the SuperSonics Friday.

Word in Seattle is that Wally Szczerbiak, the SuperSonics' highest-paid player, is on the trading block. However, he's being paid $12 million this season and is guaranteed $13 million next season.

With coach Pat Riley vowing to decrease the team's luxury-tax burden, the Heat continues to be mentioned in possible deals as the February 21 trade deadline nears. However, a proposed deal with the Sonics, who would send forward Wally Szczerbiak and point guard Earl Watson to Miami for Ricky Davis, Jason Williams and Dorell Wright, does not appear to have much traction.
