The New Orleans Hornets will play 7 preseason games before their season opener at Golden State in late October, that included 2 games in Europe as part of NBA Europe Live. The Hornets take on the Wizards on October 14 at the O2 World in Berlin, Germany. The game will be one of the 1st major sporting events held at the arena, which opened last fall.

The Wizards' Gilbert Arenas blogs for NBA.com. He recently wrote about new Rocket Ron Artest, among others. Here's a portion of the blog, He forced the trade. He would like out of there and they delivered. I think it is a good trade for Houston. Someone must control him in the locker room, however other than that, he plays hard and he plays to win, so I think that was a good transfer to pick him up.

Kwame Brown expects to be the latest player to resurrect his career with the Pistons. The Wizards drafted the 6 foot 11 center No.1 overall out of high school in 2001, however he was tagged as an underperformer early in his NBA career, and he's played for 3 teams in 7 seasons, averaging only 7.5 points and 5.7 rebounds.

Gilbert Arenas got the money. Now he would like the ring. Arenas, who signed a franchise-record 6 year, $111 million contract with Washington 9 days ago, met the media for the 1st time Tuesday and mentioned he will be more focused and do anything needed to help the Wizards triumph an NBA title. Arenas is a 3 time All Star who is averaged 22.

The Jazz will not match an offer sheet the Wizards have extended to restricted free agent point guard Dee Brown, as stated by multiple league sources familiar with the situation. The 6-foot, 181 pound Brown will play with the Wizards' summer league team in Las Vegas next week.

Free agent guard Roger Mason signed with the San Antonio Spurs Friday. The Spurs did not disclose terms of the deal, however Mason's agent, Mark Bartelstein, informed The Associated Press Thursday that Mason was to sign a 2 year contract for "just a little less than" $8 million. Mason spent the last 2 seasons with the Wizards.

Wizards player Gilbert Arenas listed his best 5 players in the NBA to the Manila Bulletin on a visit to the Philippines recently. "Chauncey Billups (Pistons) at point guard, Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics) at small forward, Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs) and Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic) at center".

Gilbert Arenas is accepting less money from the Wizards, invoking an attitude far, far removed from the world of his working class fans. "What can I do for my family with $127 million that I cannot do with $111 million?" he informed The Washington Post.

The Wizards yesterday offered unrestricted free agent guard Gilbert Arenas a 6 year contract that would pay him between $125 million and $127 million, the maximum amount allowed under the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, multiple sources said.
