I think Portland needs one more piece after acquiring Whiteside.

I think they should look to acquire Kevin Love

If Whiteside is working out great or Nurkic is struggling to find his footing since coming back from injury.

POR trades:

Kent Bazemore
Jusuf Nurkic
A 1st round pick (or 2)

for Kevin Love

OR

If Whiteside isn't playing well or Nurkic is playing really well.

POR trades:

Hassan Whiteside
2 1st round picks

for Kevin Love


Once they get Love, Portland's lineup would be either:

PG: Lillard - Simons
SG: McCollum - Hood - Trent Jr.
SF: Bazemore - Hezonja - Little
PF: Love - Labissiere
C: Whiteside - Z. Collins

or

PG: Lillard - Simons
SG: McCollum - Hezonja
SF: Hood - Little
PF: Love - Labissiere
C: Nurkic - Z. Collins

I don't know if this would put the Blazers in the "Title contender" category because I think they need another wing (like Robert Covington would be a perfect fit) but I think this lineup would put the Blazers a hell of a lot closer to that category.

It would have to be the second one to me. Nurkic is head and shoulders better than Whiteside, and he's locked in on a cheap deal. I wouldn't give him up for Love, and I wouldn't hitch my wagon to a guy like Whiteside.
