2 firsts? Doubtful.

MIN’s best chance at adding talent is through picks, not clearing salary to try to attract a free agent. They can’t afford to use picks to dump Wiggins awful contract.

You’re not just getting rid of Wiggins. That’s a pretty competent team. It’s time to make a jump or you’re going to lose KAT in a few years.

Put dieng also in the deal to create cap while giving up 2 first.

Also maybe og could be demand too to give up keita bates.

rkenne - that is one year of a better team. KAT is just starting a five year contract with no option on the end. MIN needs to be a good team to convince KAT to stay in year 4, when he has leverage to ask for a trade. The last thing they should do is trade away future picks so they can be good for one single year. If that means they have to keep Wiggins, so be it. He is KAT’s buddy anyway.

You open up space this summer and I don’t think Lowry is a guy that falls off a cliff at any point unless he suffers a major/ chronic injury. He’s just a smart, steady guy that is going to make the right play. Shooting, passing and knowing where to be just don’t go away. You could end up locking him down on a team friendly deal this summer. I think he and Ibaka both complement KAT really well and will only make him better. The biggest question is really Culver. I love Culver. I think he’s going to be really solid from day one and he can grow into a legitimate number 2 guy. I just don’t think sitting on your hands and hoping for some luck in the draft is a smart decision with KAT in tow.

Kyle Lowry is often under-rated, but he will be 34 next season, when he reaches free agency. I agree he is a smart player, but the number of good 34 year old PG’s in NBA history is very small.

If you look at what Rosas did this summer, he worked diligently to add players that align with KAT’s age. He added guys like Jake Layman, Noah Vonleh and Jordan Bell, signed three young guys, (Culver, Naz Reid, Jaylen Nowell), and cast off Taj Gibson, Bayless, Tolliver, and Dereck Rose. MIN is a far shallower team right now, and is spending the season riding a year off bad contracts, and looking for upside plays. I don’t think they can sudden, y become win now - they need to wait at least one year and maybe two, and hope to develop more talent to surround Towns.

Raptors aren't trading Lowry and why would they. the only trades I see that makes sense would be to trade Ibaka and or Gasol. but not both. and keep Lowry he's off the books and will probably sign else where or back with TO for a lot cheaper.

Raptors should try to being back derozan now that they have a few good defensive Forwards and Gasol they'll be much better and another favorite.
