I know I'm in the minority (albeit not alone I'd venture to guess)... but another Thunder win last night has me believing the best move for okc is to improve today and remain in the playoffs. They can retain most of their picks and move guys who won't be here next year anyways. They can also cut salary enough to avoid paying the luxury repeater tax.

Grizz get Roberson, Aminu, two seconds via okc
***Aminu can do basically what Crowder does but is under contract for two more seasons after this one. Anderson should go to make room for Brandon Clarke to have more minutes. This deal is done for the seconds for Memphis who can take more shots at adding young guys.

Magic get Gallinari, Anderson, 2020 Denver 1st
***Orlando needs front court pieces that fit together better. Vooch, Gordon, Isaac just seem like they don't quite work but should all see the floor. Swapping Gallo in for Isaac immediately creates more space down low and improves shooting. Anderson can be a good boost to the bench, and the first is a sweetener bc of Isaacs potential. This is a playoff push move.

Thunder get Fournier, Crowder, Isaac
***Gallo is worth a first to a contender, so if you pair him with a first you should get value back. This deal bolsters the bench for a playoff run. They'll be deep and strong. I believe the best thing for the franchise is remaining a playoff team and aiming for an upset. A second round upset should do wonders for the pups, the vets, the franchise, and the fans.

Paul, Schroeder
SGA, Fournier, Diallo
Ferguson, Bazley
Crowder, Isaac
Adams, Noel

Try to get Iggy from the Grizz also.

I agree with your thinking on the Thunder, they should definitely try and stay competitive at least for as long as Paul is around. I feel like
the Magic wouldn't give up Issac for that though, I could see Gordon getting traded but obviously that would screw up the salaries.

The magic get worse in the long term and short term.

Orlando won't give Isaac and fournier for gallinari and denver pick. Maybe okc can get Gordon.

The problem is that OKC is primed to be a 7-10 seed in the west for the next 5 years if that's the gameplan. They NEED a superstar. Paul is declining. SGA is really good, but I don't see a top 10 player there.

Competing now means not looking toward the future, unless you are banking the entire franchise on making a trade for a top 10 player, which isn't the best idea in my eyes.

The great part is SGA, Bazely, Dialo, Gort, etc. Should be even better by the end of the year. Gallo will be traded to the highest bidder by the deadline.

I agree with Bmiller. The best thing for the Thunders future is focus on rebuilding through the draft. Stars aren't going to stay in OKC they don't have the market for it. If you trade for a star They will leave as soon as they hit FA. If u get some high draft picks to add to SGA you can build a realy good solid future team. With controlable contracts for 4-8 years. The odds of them drafting like they did before and hit on prospects so close together like they did with KD, Russ, Harden is slim. But out of their huge collection of future picks over the next 6 years say they hit on 2 of them. You have SGA and 2 other great young guys with controllable contracts. For a small market team that should be the goal.
