love has very big contract but he can be very useful in portland next to nurkic.

cavs get a good young player. ariza and hood could be trade chips at trade deadline for second round picks.

Love's contract is not only "very big", it is absolutely horrible in that it takes away Portland's already lacking flexibility for a few more years. Worse, it does the opposite of helping win at deep run playoff level. Zero defense, lack of durability, entitled attitude. More scoring is very low on Portland's priority list compared to some major gaps. Portland is not the dumping ground for the things/ people other teams want to desperately get rid of.
