Don't think you're getting a top three pick for Siakim on that contract.

xxx, are you kidding? Siakam's contract isn't at all bad for his skillset. A team can have 2+ maxes, and his isn't even a max.

Not the right move for Minn. imo they need to start fresh w Edwards and their pick and get rid of DLo and KAT while they hold a lot of value.

Minnesota has to surrender that pick if it falls out of the top 3, and they're projected the 6th pick atm.

I would be very surprised if TOR could get a top five player in the next draft for Siakim. Each of those five players has the chance to be a franchise player, and if a GM traded a top five pick for Siakim, and the pick did become a star, they would possibly be fired.

The wolves can't effort another rebuilt, they've made the playoffs once the last 16 years.

Siakam would improve their defense and he's a great third scoring option. Their offense would cover their defense.

Siakam can take the second option over Russell. I firmly believe that with the right Batman and a good supporting cast, Siakam can average 25+ a night.

I’m sure Siakim would improve the Wolves, but he brings two major problems.

First, his 3P% has continued to decline since he got his max deal. He was an okay three point shooter (36.9%) two years ago, but the he was 35.9%, and last year dropped to 29.7%. Towns’ biggest advantage is that he has an inside/ outside game with size that is extremely difficult for opposing coaches to match up against, but that requires a good three point shooting big man to pair with him.

Second, Siakim got paid the max, and is owed $100 mil the next three years. With max deals on KAT and Russell, a third max deal really squeezes the Wolves financially and leaves them little room to construct the rest of the team. Siakim is a very good player, but I question how much trade value He really has on a deal this big. I certainly would prefer the upside of the top three players in the next draft, especially on rookie scale. Finally, the rookie scale contract and RFA status gives MIN 7-8 years of team control, which is important for a non FA destination,

I know it's an overpay, but i can see the wolves do this.

-this gives them a strong starting 5
-There are no other (all star caliber) PF available for a top three pick
-Siakam would be better in a team that has other players to double team.
-GS owns the next Wolves pick, if this one falls in the top three, so you can't start a proper rebuilt.

I'm not saying the Raptors won't trade Siakam, because ultimately everybody is available in the right deal, but I don't think that is at all what the Raptors would look for in return. More likely the Raps will hold onto him until a unique opportunity arises to deal for a superstar, like the Kawhi deal.

Gasupo- if wolves want to rebuild trading kat and DLo and Beasley should bring back plenty of picks even if gsw get this one or 2022.

Unless u run into a warrior type team bc of injury they land top 5 pick, trade makes no sense for wolves. Wolves need hometown player like Suggs. Every team with top 3 pick is Rebuilding. Unless the salary was a John Wall, it doesn't make sense for Rebuilding to take on that salary instead of getting a potential star in rookie contract.
