Orl-Por trade Idea

Don't get me wrong, I love some of these players. But I feel like Orlando needs to consolidate some assets. So how about something like this.

Orlando gets CJ McCullom and Robert Covington.

Portland gets Terrence Ross, Gary Harris, Mo Bamba, Chuma Okeke, and Chicago's 2023 first rounder.

Rationale: Orlando gets a go to scorer in McCullom and veteran versatile support from Covington. They also turn out courting contracts of Bamba and Harris into something worthwhile. For Portland, they aren't going anywhere with Lillard and McCullom. They can replace his production with a good two-way guard in Harris this year, plus scoring depth off the bench in Ross. They also get to take a flier on Bamba and Okeke in the case they don't want to resign Nurkic. Overall, it would improve their defense and add depth while allowing them to cut $15 million in the off-season (and pick up an additional first).

Orlando is going nowhere. And CJ isn’t changing that nor would he stay there.

Moving Suggs to bench? Could hender his development.

As an Orlando fan, I would do this trade. MD will say hell no but Orlando gets good value here. BMiller will also say no or want more, but all in all I think this benefits both teams.

Magic decline it McCollum doesn’t fit their timeline it’s hurt young player like Suggs development so no I don’t like it.

Actually with MD on this one. Don't think McCollum would do much for the Magic.

Pointless for Orlando.

Yeah, I wouldn’t like this. Bamba isn’t the headliner of a trade I’d want for McCollum. But it’s not that far off in value.

But Orlando would be insane to trade this much for McCollum, let alone more.

Orlando and Detroit should both do similar things before trade deadline. trade ALL of your veterans and guys with the most trade value and just acquire young talented prospects AND draft picks and use the rest of this season to evaluate them. the Pistons said before the season started they will probably finish with a horrible W-L record but its all about evaluating talent and seeing who fits and who does not. i imagine teams like Orlando, Houston and OKC are doing something similar. Indiana might blow it up and take that approach also.
