Not only does Boston say no, but Ainge refuses to take any more calls from Orlando for the next five years.

Easy no from Orlando. Hayward has a negative value.
Vucevic is by far the best player in the deal and Brown+ one 1st and Williams isn't enough for him especially because Brown will have to get overpaid next year. Boston has to add much more to make it work.

Curious from Boston fans: Why is this so bad?

Fournier is similar to Hayward. Hayward's ceiling is higher, but Fournier is a very solid role player.

Brown is a solid young player, but no one thinks he'll ever make an all star game right?

Williams has a nice ceiling, but realistically he's a career 2.5 ppg scorer and was a late first round pick. There's a better chance he's Thomas Robinson or Noah Vonleh than he's even as good as Myles Turner when he peaks in 5-7 years.

And a late first.

And you get a top 10 center in the NBA and a guy that was an all star last year. This is a win now move, which makes sense with their other moves this offseason.

BMiller -- Vucevic and Fournier are decent players, but at this point they are what they are. Decent but not the type of guys who will win you a title. Brown and Williams COULD develop into A-minus players, and Haywood has already been at that point and MIGHT get close to that again this season. This deal has the potential to blow up in the Celtics faces. Better to hope that these guys develop into what you hope than take on two players who you KNOW won't get a lot better. If I was the Magic I'd do this in a heartbeat, because without new blood you're a .500 team again -- at best. Finally, to say that Williams, who is just 20 and has played all of one season and was hurt twice, is just a career 2.5 a game scorer completely ignores the fact that he was not in Boston's rotation.

“They are what they are” isn’t a bad thing when you want to win now.

Saying Williams wasn’t in Boston’s rotation but could develop into an A- player ignores the history of late 20’s picks in NBA history. I’d give him a 1% chance of having a better career than Vuc. And even if he does, he won’t hit that peak until Walker and Hayward have declined. Also, rarely do bigs get more healthy.

Sure, the deal could be bad for Boston. Any trade in the history of sports could be bad for either team. This one doesn’t feel very close to lopsided. Then again, I’m impartial to the trade.

Overvaluing your celtics players. Walker there delete player but last yr he shown he can't lead a team to playoffz. Hayward will always be step slow from the injury. Tatum and Brown over rated. Marcus Smart my favorite Celtic the glue of team, his health can factor 40 or 50 wins.
