Simple trade idea.

NYK - hassan whiteside, Porland 1 round (top 10 protected)

Por - Morris, Gibson

Why newyork do this because they getting first round and expiring contract for two expiring contracts.

Why Portland do this because whiteside is playing bad and they are losing something must change. Morris and Gibson can bring toughness to defence. And they are taking 3 million less money. Their salary will drop 3 million and their tax payment will drop around 5-6 million. They will save around 8-9 million. If they make play-offs first round pick won't be much valuable.

But who plays center for Portland? Morris? Skal?

Maybe swap Morris and Portis? I think Portis would be a better placeholder at center while Nurkic and Collins are out.

I'd definitely be interested in something like this though. I agree, Whiteside has been a complete disaster in every way. I always thought Miami fans overestimated how bad Whiteside was. I think it was an understatement on how bad he really is.
