Drummond and Adams are expensive - but Favors could fit well in Dallas and New Orleans has a lot of guards may need a wing with size! And a second since Mavs ask for.

Pelicans: J.Jackson, Lee, 2nd
Mavs: Favors, Hart

Favors is strong in the paint and can score from everywhere he moves fast as well, may be a nice fit with KPorzee. Hart is faster and a a crazy figther and he can score from outside or on the rim so he could be a nice fit as well!
In a second trade Mavs send 1st 2023 without protection and take Ntilikina, he can develop not in a starter but in a nice 3&D player, that may fit well with Magic.

Special starter:
Magic, Ntilikina, Hart, KPorzee, Favors - Curry as 6th man
Best bench in the league:
Wright, Hardaway, Maxi, Powell

Voila.

Why would the Pelicans do this?

For the brain researcher:

Pelicans do not play for playoffs - since they play for a good draft pick and hence for a low placment. Favors is 28 and should be in his prime, Pelicans will not extend with him.

Also Pelicans have 5 or 6 wing players in the 6-3 to 6-5 since but only one with 6-8. Justin Jackson ist +15 pick and great talent that can score well and could play as a backup for Ingram or start with him on PF as well. Midterm J. Jackson will be a better fit for Pelicans compared with Hart.

Pelicans improve - Mavs improve. The reason for the trade.

Okay, but you could get more for Favors and not have to give up Hart. I’m not questioning team needs. I’m questioning why the Pelicans would make a bad trade, where they don’t get enough value back.

Yea They can easily get more than that for Favors and Hart.

J. Jackson is a better fit than Hart for Pelicans immediatelly and could develop in a starter beside Zion when they play small ball. Favors contract expires. He need to refurbish his playing and picks have become more valueable. I do not see a team that would invest a frist but ok 2 x 2nd picks insteed of one could be fair as well. Not to take a lot of second round players in New Orleans but to have trade asset to adjust, to trade up with a 1st pick if they will look for a dedicated player on future draft so I see a really good trade for two teams:
Pels: Justin Jackson, Lee, 2 x 2nd
Mavs: Favors, Hart.
