Simple trade. OKC gives up Adams and Gallo, plus three first rounders for KAT. Four picks if necessary. Wolves throw in bench players to make salaries work. Both teams win. Wolves can rebuild quickly which they obviously need to do because they're wasting KAT and the Thunder get a great player to pair with SGA for years and still have 13,14 first rounders left. Perfect for both teams.

This is far below what other teams would offer for Towns, and why would KAT want to go to Oklahoma City anyway.

Also, if you are going to make a trade, how about focusing on both teams? Gallinari has no value for MIN after trading away KAT, but you didn’t bother to send him to a third team which could give MIN usable assets.

Hey shrink are you kidding me? No one can offer more than OKC. You're like many of the other posters here. Let's overcomplicate things with 40 players and 17 teams which will never happen. Gallinari frees up 20 million in space, duh. Adams is a solid center that will free up another 25 million or net a pick, duh, in addition to four+ first round picks, duh. As far as OKC goes, everyone will want to play here when they dominate for the next 15 years with their warchest of picks. Winning championships trumps everything, Please think before you post.

Postal, Knicks can offer more.

Much rather have NY and Dallas future picks than a collect of Thunder, Houston and Clipper picks. Plus, Knicks have better young talent as well. Randle, Robinson, Barrett and picks blow away that Thunder offer.

28 Dec 2019 17:33:03
Fredman, no argument there. But trade assets are only valuable for trades if they are included. I doubt Barrett is dealt. Robinson would have to be included. The bonus for okc is basically anyone not named Shai is probably available.

28 Dec 2019 18:23:49
Knicks can offer more than the Thunder? Did you actually post that? They really have nothing to offer that would even remotely match what OKC could offer. Not even close.

28 Dec 2019 18:36:19
I give Knicks the edge they have there 2020 pick which tops anything thunder have to offer.

28 Dec 2019 19:27:32
Okay Postal, I rarely respond to children who use the word, “duh” repeatedly as part of their case, but I will make an exception here.

Gallinari has some value as a good player for this season, and the creation of 2020 cap space. If MIN trades Towns, why would either be particularly valuable to the Wolves, Like I said, you should have at least included a third team, to send him too.

I don’t believe Adams has much trade value in today’s NBA. He’s a good player, but he can’t shoot three’s and he has a very big contract.

Finally, you have MIN getting 3-4 future picks. “Future” degrades them from the start - GMs prefer assets that they can use before they get fired. If you think SGA (which you left out of the trade! ) and Towns is a good pairing, don’t you expect those picks to be non-lotto? And finally, why do you think OKC has so much more value than other teams, when most teams can trade their future picks as well.

Towns age, contract, and uncannot scoring probably make him as a Top Ten guy in trade value. This package isn’t appealing for MIN to lose their biggest star since Garnett.

28 Dec 2019 19:37:20
I agree that from the Wolves perspective, the 2020 Knicks 1st, Barrett (who I am leery of), and even Mitchell Robinson are better assets than anything in the Thunder’s original offer. Quality over quantity.

There are probably other teams that can do better than the Thunder’s mitt full of later picks too.

That said, I highly doubt MIN is listening to offers for Towns. He signed on for five years, with no player option. He doesn’t have any leverage to say, “trade me or I won’t re-sign with you next year! ” Before this last month, Towns has been happier than I have seen him in three years, and Saunders and Rosas have had him be a part of the rebuild process from the start last summer. I don’t think there would be an offer out there that would get them to trade him this year or next.

28 Dec 2019 19:59:40
The problem is that OKC doesn’t really have any youth to trade, only picks. I’d rather have two guys on rookie deals and two firsts than 4 firsts from good teams. OKC has a bunch of picks that are likely in the second half of the first round. The Knicks 2020 first has way more value than any two OKC picks.

28 Dec 2019 20:27:31
Let me retort Shrink. First of all to say the Knicks have better young talent than the Thunder is hysterical. SGA is better than anything the Knicks have, young talent wise, by a mile. The Knicks are awful because they have bad players and are poorly run. Have you actually watched either team play? I seriously doubt you have watched either team play to make that silly comment. Watch some games and get informed. Knowledge is power.

The clippers and rockets picks will be gold because they kick in right when Harden and Leonard are at the end and George and Westbrook are long gone and neither team will be replenishing anything because they have no picks. Most, if not all, of those picks will be lottery picks. OKC has 16 first round picks in the next seven years. No other team is remotely close to that and they could offer more than any other team by a mile. Logic dictates all of this.

Also, please stop regurgitating what other writers have said regarding g. m. 's not caring what happens to a franchise down the road because they're worried about being fired. Good g. m. 's think about their franchises long term viability, bad g. m. 's don't and are usually quickly dismissed. Presti is one of the best in the game and is amazing at performing trades and having his teams perform at a high level. Both George trades and the Westbrook trade were genius.

KAT is languishing in Minnesota. Their g. m. has failed to build around him. He'd welcome a trade to a playoff team and well run organization in a heartbeat. It's just a matter of their willingness to trade a disgruntled top ten player and what they would want in compensation. If it's too much, then the Thunder will just wait for the next superstar to become disgruntled and inquire of him.

I'm now dropping the microphone. peace.

28 Dec 2019 22:34:46
SGA doesn’t count in “young talent” because he’s untouchable. Past him, what does OKC have? Nothing.

You are severely overvaluing those picks. Of all the franchises in the NBA, those two are in the top of “I never expect them to be selecting in the top 5” category. Expecting them to be lottery picks because of your logic is badly flawed.

28 Dec 2019 23:51:29
"I'm now dropping the microphone. peace. "

Thank goodness. Wont be hearing more homerism from him anytime soon.

28 Dec 2019 23:56:30
Leonard will be 30,32,34 when those picks go. That’s maybe one good pick of 3. Same with Houston’s picks. You have two picks that MIGHT be valuable. The rest are ok late firsts like any other playoff team can offer.

And final note: OKC has 16 picks in the next 7 years. You offered 4. You also offered zero youth. That’s not exactly a “we have all the assets and we’re throwing them in to get a superstar! ” offer.

29 Dec 2019 02:39:15
Barrett = SGA. But u did not have sga in the deal, so why u bring sga up.
Robinson signed 3 yrs more yrs under 2 mil compared adams 2 50mil. Age factor 22 compared to adam 26 Defensively the same offensively adams better.
Gallo will resign? Probably not Randle = Gallo also. Randle gives them interior scorer better than Adams
Smithjr knox and Frank all in rookie contract.
Wiseman or Cole Anthony or Ball or Edwards + and 4 future picks

Wanna dump wiggens dieng sure knicks will send more expiring contracts.

OKC fans don't get it. Wolves not trading him WC team. Metuchen is 45 min from msg. Still no? smh

Knicks not winning. What did okc win with durant westbrook and harden. Failed to keep them together. Marketing? Where will Towns make more money NYC. Let me know when I should stop.

29 Dec 2019 03:59:38
FYI I love how Postal uses the logic that the Clippers and Rockets draft picks will be good because these teams will be bad and then states that Good GMs look to their teams future.

So I guess Houston and the Clippers do not have good GMs to insure they would be good in the future?

29 Dec 2019 15:16:15
Gsw can put dlo and young players and picks. Dlo is better than gallinari and Adams and have 4 years contract. Gsw pick will be high this year. They can do the trade in the offseason. Gsw have young talents. They can give everybody and every pick Minnesota wants except curry klay draymond.
