If you look businesswise:

Mavs trade for one of them adding salary fillers right now:

1.1 Turner for Jackson, Brunson, 1st 2025 and IND does what they feel to do with.
1.2 Drummond for Brunson.
1.3 Favors for Jackson.

And take a 3&D PG as well.

2.0 Ntilikina for 2nd 2020 GSW and the removed protection of the 1st 2023

If it becomes Favors, Mavs can use Brunson to go for another 3&D (Covington, Crowder...)

Brunson is on a very low contract for 3y and a starting caliber PG. Please understand, Mavs have some asset - if you like it or not.

Yeah, but Brunson isn’t a starting caliber PG. He’s probably a top 40 PG in the NBA. That puts him at a “good bench PG” placement. And I don’t see any chance he ever reaches a top 20 status.

The 1st 2025 pick is? Yes a 1st round pick.

Nobody pays more than 3 first round picks for Turner that has slowed down his development in Indiana since Sabonis/ Turner doesn't fit in the paint.
