Its not that simple. Raps are already over the cap, so they don't just get back all the expiring money. Still works though because most of what you're doing is resigning.
I wonder if you can get Gasol back on a year to year end of career dollars kinda deal. I think someone is going to offer better to Thompson.
rumors have Serge joining KD in Brooklyn, but Toronto will have more money to offer if he's happy here.
They have almost $87M committed next year on a $115M cap. cap holds for serge and Gasol will keep them from signing anyone outside until they are signed for less or renounced. Fred's is 17M, which is probably more like what he's going to get paid.

How far was Toronto over the salary cap before these deals expired? 16 mil? Cap went up 6 mil. So you basically have $8 mil to sign Thompson. Good luck!

Leonard would probably be a solid fit in Toronto, and I don't think he'll see more than that kind of offer. Seems to fit.
