Hell no. If I’m the 76ers take it in a heart beat cause of the picks then they could maybe flip em with Horford but the thunder would be stupid as ****. They already have Shai at pg and they wouldn’t even want Simmons. That would not be a good fit for them putting Simmons at small or power forward who is also ball dominant.

Matrix, SGA is more of a combo guard or a shooting guard than a point guard. That’d be a big high level defensive back court and you can do all kinds of stuff around those two. You just need shooting around them, but you have a ton of versatility on what players you bring in. You can fit in another guard if you want, 2 wings, or a pf. Simmons can play 1 through 4 and some 5. SGA can play both guard spots and some 3.

I do it in a heart beat, if I’m OKC. You have two guys to build around, you don’t have to take a step back and you have a ton of flexibility.

Philly would have to think about it and a lot depends on where you think some of the picks fall, but it’s a huge gamble. First, what are the chances that you can keep Paul and Embiid healthy for the playoffs? That’s a huge risk. Second, you’re giving up a 23 year old allstar, while not getting any proven young talent back, what could end up as some late firsts and you’re taking on salary for a team set to be deep in the luxury.

I think it’s honestly a bit of an overpay. I think Paul in Philly would be huge for their offense. And they have plenty of defense to cover. I’d say a swap of Paul and Burton for Horford and Richardson would be more likely for both teams.

For starters, salaries don't match. Take out Bazley and Philly would still have to add $4+ mil in salary.

To me, Simmons is Westbrook. Similar strengths, similar weaknesses. So if Houston sent Paul + 2 firsts for Westbrook, then Simmons is worth Paul and 2 firsts. Not going to overpay for a "flawed" player.

I think Westbrook had his value tank because he seemed to have no awareness that his weakness was so incredibly weak. Also, his ego didn’t help. And his age. And his stats had decreased 3 straight years across the board.

Simmons has considerably more value today than Westbrook when he got traded. It’s like trading for a 23 year old Westbrook.

It’s not like Westbrook deserved his. He finished 20 games out of first place in the west.

If Simmons decided he wants to win the MVP and average a triple double and ignored things like winning and team success, I think he could do it.

Westbrook deserved his whoever wins the voting without cheating it deserves it. He got it cause his team sucked and they made the playoffs. He averaged a triple double with a horrible team. look at Sabonis and oladipo they got better after playing with Westbrook now they became all stars.

So Simmons has to be Giannis like. and Rose MVP was before Westbrooks.

Dont get me wrong Simmons is good at what he does. But let's not overvalue it by ignoring/ minimizing his shortcomings.

I don’t think it’s crazy to value a 23 year old all star more than a 30 year old former MVP that has fallen off. I don’t think Simmons is a future MVP. But when Westbrook got traded, he wasn’t a future MVP either (he was a past one) .

How about this: better odds to win an MVP going forward, Westbrook or Simmons. I’ll take Simmons in that.
