GS is giving up waaaaaay too much. The top pick in the draft and a likely lottery pick for Robinson and a late first? No.
I expected GS to be getting back the Knicks 2020 pick when I got to the pick they were giving up (and I still thought GS was getting a bad deal) .

The goldenstate Window is closing, thee neem players that can contribute now. Robinson would be great in that team and randle would be a good sixth man.

Trading for players that can contribute right now doesn’t mean taking a horrible low ball offer on two incredibly high value assets.
Also, you act like the #1 pick generally takes 3-5 years to be ready to play meaningful minutes. That’s not the case. Robinson is just as much of a work in progress as anyone at the top of this draft.
And Randle is basically Whiteside. Both throw up monster stats while giving nothing meaningful that helps the team win.

Whiteside at least protects the rim. Randle doesn’t.

Having watched Whiteside for most of a season, he really doesn’t protect the rim. Same with rebounding, he’s really not that great at it.
He blocks 3 shots a game, and gives up 4-8 dunks/ layups when he whiffs on a ill advised block attempt. His rim defense looks a lot like your average 19 year old 7 footer.
And he grabs rebounds, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him box out anyone. If he’s not getting the rebound, the other team will almost always. I miss watching Robin Lopez box out 3-4 people at a time and just watching the rest of his team scoop up EVERY rebound. Steven Adams is like that too.
