Knicks get two stars and become relevant. Move on from Knox, SmithJr.

76ers get out of Luxury Tax, get out from under Horford's salary

Spurs get two young starters for DeRozen and Gay. Improve defensively.

DeRozen averaged 22 points, 5.6 Reb., and 5.6 assists this year. Arguably his best season. He would have been an all-star had he played in the East. Horford averaged 12 pts., 6.9 Reb., and 4.1 asts. on a loaded Philly team. He was better this year than anyone currently on the Knicks team other than Randle, better even than Barrett. He might not be an all-star any more, but he has name recognition and respect of the league. The point is that these two guys along with Barrett would make the Knicks attactive for recruiting FAs. They have not been able to get anyone of value to play come there for several years, so yeah they are stars.

Horford is 35, Derozan is about to turn 31. Derozan doesn’t have a game that makes him a great second or third option. Of any big name, these two might be the worst to get if you’re trying to lure free agents.

Not saying it’s a terrible move. It’s not like they’re giving up anything but cap space. They’re two good locker room guys. They’re two guys that can work with the youth. They’re a lot better than Randle and Morris for a rebuild.

If the idea is using cap space on building a positive culture for the youth, it’s smart. But if the idea is to use these two as building blocks to lure a superstar, it’s misguided.

Warlock mad bc the best part of your team is your coach. Next yr is his last. DeRozan is leaving. So before mock the Knicks our future is brighter.

Warlock, Derozen would not be an all-star in the East. Beal has better numbers than DeRozen and Beal didn't make the All-Star team. So just stop.

What difference does it make if DeRozen would have made the all-star team or not. Why don't you guys comment on the merits of the trade proposal.

So, you don't think the Knicks should trade Randle, Knox, Smith Jr. for Horford and DeRozen.
