Wow. Can you overvalue Simmons anymore?

You might get someone to swallow Horford's deal with Simmons and come out with a little something. But the #2 pick and young lottery-level talent as "a little something" is going to be too much. The only one I can see that might overpay for Simmons-Horford is Atlanta.

•It’s not guaranteed the Cavs even get a top 3 pick.
• Garland has good potential but was one of the worst rookies last year
• Osman and Windler are nothing but role players
• 2022 1st will be middle of draft maybe even low 20’s.

Don’t see how top 5 pick, Garland, 2 role players and a mid 1st is overpaying for an all star player who’s 24. Just because he can’t shoot doesn’t mean who doesn’t have great value. That package couldn’t get Beal, Booker or other stars on trade block so I don’t see how it’s way overpaying for Simmons.

I don't know why I said Atlanta. I was thinking Phoenix (not getting Booker or Ayton in return) . Something like Rubio+Oubre+Kaminsky+lottery protected first.

The Cavs really need atleast one of Cedi or Windler and preferably both. They are going to need shooters around Simmons. I also think using Drummonds contract to eat Horford’s would be beneficial. Another big that can shoot would let them resign TT.

NBA16, trade can't happen before lottery anyways. So better to wait posting trades until affter the lottery OR state assumptions "if Cavs end up with the 5th pick".
