Timberwolves get Devin Booker

Suns get the first overall pick, a future unprotected Timberwolves pick, Jarret Culver, James Johnson, and Omari Spellman

The T-Wolves go all-in on uniting the three best friends KAT, Dlo, and Booker in hopes of keeping them together for the rest of their careers and winning a championship.

If Booker asks for a trade from Phoenix, then this makes perfect sense. They get a first round pick from last year in Culver, a future first, and the first overall pick while also saving a lot of future salary. It's unlikely that any other team could match this package.

As a Wolves fan, it would be fun to add Booker to KAT and Russell, even though the team would be terrible on defense.

But I can't see Phoenix trading Booker after the way they played in the bubble, unless Booker forces his way out.

booker has 4 years on his contract. he can't force anything.

Aside- how many years did PG have in okc before asking for trade?

28 Aug 2020 17:42:59
PG didn't demand trade publicly. everybody was shock with that trade. and okc got SGA, gallinari, 5 first round pick and 2 first round swap. if they didn't get that package I don't think they will let him go. I don't see that kind of package here.

28 Aug 2020 18:59:22
Yeah, the Thunder straight up won that trade even before SGA went from promising rookie to borderline allstar in his second year and Gallo staying healthy. The Clippers wouldn’t have offered half of that if they didn’t have Kawhi telling them that’s what they needed to do for him to come.

28 Aug 2020 21:14:24
Which is why OKC didn’t win that trade rkenne. It was a mutually beneficial trade. Neither side won.

BMiller, They had to do it and that’s why they got screwed. That doesn’t make it less of an overpay.

29 Aug 2020 03:50:47
Well, if the Clippers win a championship, then they got what they wanted. If they don't, then it was a bad trade that will haunt them for 15 years.

29 Aug 2020 06:11:11
Of course it makes it less of an overpay. If SGA, Gallo, and 5 firsts gets me George and Leonard, I do that every single chance. No questions, no doubt. No way I consider that getting screwed.

Even if they don’t win a championship, it’s the smart move. You don’t just tell a top 25 all time player “nah, I’d rather have draft picks than sign you”.

Disagree completely. You don't mortgage your team's future 15 years for 3 years in return. It's completely irresponsible. I would have never made that George trade and I would have never made the Westbrook trade if I was L. A. or Houston. In four years, when those stars are done or winding down, I can't see either team being very good. Those picks and pick swaps could become highly valuable as each team will be forced to solely build with free agents.
