Lakers get Andrew Wiggins and the 2nd overall pick
Warriors get Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, KCP (opt-in), Quinn Cook, and the 28th overall pick
The Lakers get a legit third scorer and a shot at a high upside prospect. I could see the Lakers drafting Wiseman so that AD never has to play the 5. LBJ/Caruso/Wiggins/AD/Wiseman would be a big problem. LaMelo Ball or Anthony Edwards would also work. Ball/Wiggins/LBJ/AD/McGee is another potential lineup, or LBJ/Edwards/Wiggins/AD/McGee.
The Warriors mainly do this trade for cap space. KCP, Green, and Cook are all on expiring contracts. This will make it much easier for the Warriors to make a run at Giannis in 2021. Curry/Klay/Kuzma/Green/Looney with actual wing depth in KCP and Green makes the Warriors more legit this upcoming season. Kuzma is a better fit in this situation and could have a breakout season.

Why would Golden State do this? They can match better with the Lakers by selecting a big in Wiseman.

SafetyFirst the Warriors do this to give themselves a legit chance of a Giannis/ Steph/ Klay/ Draymond big 4. Otherwise they’d have to do a sign-and-trade for Giannis which would probably force them to move Klay or Draymond. Wiggins’ contract complicated things for them, this is their way of ridding it.

If Giannis really wants to go to GS, they can use Wiggins' contract and a package of 2nd pick, Wolves pick, 3 more picks to get it done. They don't need to give assets to the Lakers.

Lakers won the championship with great defense. Green and KCP were a huge part of that. Wiggins is far from a strong defensive player. and I agree with safety that GSW should keep the powder dry. they can do much better than this. and why clear salary unless you get the player you want. Curry, Thompson and Green total $100M in 20/ 21 so they can't sign Giannis anyway. they need to hold on to Wiggins salary to do a sign and trade to get Giannis.
