If the Lakers renounce the rights to all of their free agents except Anthony Davis, and if guys like KCP, McGee, and Avery Bradley opt-out, then they will have enough cap space to do the following trade.

Lakers get Chris Paul

Thunder get Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, Quinn Cook, and the 28th overall pick

The Lakers boast the best big 3 in the NBA with Bron, AD, and CP3. Caruso can start at the 2, and the Lakers could use the veteran minimum to bring back McGee/Howard at the 5. The MLE and veteran minimum can be used to fill out the bench.

The Thunder save roughly $19 million in cap space, and pick up a pair of expiring contracts in Green and Cook. Kuzma can be their starting 3 of the future, and they pick up another first round pick as a sweetener. Seems fair to me.

And hope Rondo/ CP3 works together.

Lakers keep Kuzma.

HorribleTrader Rondo is a free agent this summer. He would have the choice of coming back to play with CP3 on the veteran minimum or leaving. If anyone can mend that relationship, it’s LeBron. I think winning is too important to Paul and Rondo for their beef to get in the way.

Thunder don’t get kuz, expiring money and a pick for cp3. Maybe if he was getting paid 20 mil a year but that’s not the case. Crazy thunder fans. If thunder wants a good asset for Chris Paul there going to have to take on bad contracts there self.

Paul is in big demand as several teams are in "win now" mode. It's a seller's market for sure.

If a team wants Paul, or any other player, they're going to have to offer more than every other bidding team to get that player. Supply and demand.

II you sound like someone who didn’t watch one minute of CP3 this year. The man is still one of the best point guards in the game, he’s just old and expensive. I’m not even a Thunder fan btw.

If this trade is happening after the draft (not on draft night), then they have to wait before they can trade this year's pick. So that would pretty much handcuff the lakers in free agency.
