Timberwolves get RJ Barrett and the 8th overall pick

Knicks get the 1st overall pick and Jarrett Culver

The top 2 players in the draft are both guards, and the Twolves already have Dlo running the show. This trade gives them a 20 year old wing with two-way All-Star potential, and they still get to pick in the lottery.

The Knicks downgrade their young wing talent from RJ to Culver, but they move up to 1st overall and get their choice of LaMelo Ball or Anthony Edwards. The Knicks have next to nothing in terms of guards, so either player would be a huge boost.

I am not sure swapping Barrett for Culver moves you from #8 pick to #1pick. Knicks would need to give up more.
