Not if you have to pay "full price" for Beal and not get "full" Beal because of the rest of the team. That is mismanagement.

What if Porter "grows" into Beal? then all the other assets are "wasted".

But you think of the present. If you want to win, you bet on established stars and think about what ifs in the future. Lakers gave up a lot for Davis not thinking what if Ingram grows into a Davis, Nets clean the house for Harden because they want to win. Denver have the assets to go for a star and keep a competitive line up so if there's a chance, they should consider it.
