Boston is not interested in Vucevic. He doesn't address their needs but rather prevents them from doing so.

If you’re not interested in an all star at a position of weakness, you’re doing it wrong.

Center is not a weak spot for Boston. They need a wing and depth. This should be well known.

Rank Boston’s starting center among all centers. 20th? 25th? It’s certainly not a strength.

Take out the “position of weakness then”. If you’re not interested at all in an all star at a position you don’t have an all star at, you’re doing it wrong.

They have 3 centers who play around equal minutes and do a fine job. They are very thin in other places, and a trade for Vucevic would leave them even more thin. Boston trading for that player is a ridiculous idea.

I kinda get what Nightcap is trying to say. The Celtics do not need a "scoring" center that needs basketball "touches" as much as they need a defensive, rebounding center. Why "overpay" for a center that your team is not going to using everything that he can provide?

I think Boston would be way more interested in sending a young player + 1 first for, let's say, Capela then sending a young player + 2 firsts for Vucevic.

While I get that thought process, if it’s the difference of one first, give me the vastly superior player over the one that fits a bit better.

The center position has been very good for Boston this year with Robert Williams emerging. They are absolutely desperate for a starting caliber forward and bench help. You hurt yourself there even more if you make this trade and you lose the TPE and your assets. Take a look at the 3 centers for Boston combined and remember that Vucevics scoring will go down. I keep seeing you guys say he's an all star center. So what? It's not like he's perennial all NBA.

Would he be an all star on Boston with 3 other guys taking a lot of shots? They'd be paying for one though. With the TPE, their own picks, and tradable players, they could add 2-4 good players and fill all of their holes. If they trade for Vucevic, that's it, and that's not enough. If that's not enough, the trade is not worthwhile. It's a lateral move at best for the present, and a hurtful move going forward. If you watch all of the team's games and really think about it, it doesn't make any sense.

I don't know why, but I keep seeing Vucevic as a Pelican for Adams, Hart + 2 Lakers firsts being the best offer Orlando gets.

Plus, I don't see Danny Ainge ever "overpaying" for a player.
