Three Team complex Sign and Trade Deal

Lakers get: Collin Sexton, DeMar DeRozan (Sign and Trade).

Spurs get: Kevin Love, #3 pick from Cavs.

Cavs get: Kyle Kuzma, Tallen Horton-Tucker (sign and trade), Montrezl Harrell, #22 pick from Lakers, #12 pick from Spurs.

This deal could not happen until after the draft since it contains free agents. Therefore, all draft picks are made by their original clubs. Good news is that everyone knows who they will be getting before the deal is done.

1. They get out from under Love's 60mm contract.
2. They get value for Sexton who they fear will want a max deal next year and they won't want to or be able to match.
3. They get two first round picks #12 and #22.
4. They get a potential replacement (Horton-Tucker) for Sexton who they would not be able to get without a sign and trade. They have been rumored to be interested in him.
5. They get two good players to help their rebuild or if they don't work out are tradeable.

Maybe both Spurs (2022 protected) and Lakers (2027) could add a future 1st pick to sweeten the deal for Cavs.

They are not desperate to get out of Love's contract especially if they giving 2 assets too.

XXX. I would not necessarily agree with that. I think Harrell and Kuzma have a little trade value/ interest. However, they are not going to get back what the Lakers are searching for.
