Interesting crunching of the numbers here. The only way this trade works is if it is conducted before the start of the new season because of the nearly $12 mil less of a cap hit Adams will be next year. All players have guaranteed salary for next year which does not create that problem. However, the trade does have NO taking on an additional $5 mil in salary when they are currently only $10K below the luxury cap for 2021-2022. So does it make sense for NO to pay $5 mil in luxury tax this year (and possibly more in the future) to make this trade?
