Per Jon Krawczynski, Minnesota is still hesitant on that front:

As of right now, the Timberwolves do not have a trade package that offers Morey the win-now assets a team in championship mode wants. They are not going to put Karl-Anthony Towns into any type of multi-team deal to try to get the wheels moving and Anthony Edwards remains untouchable as well. Even if the Wolves did include D’Angelo Russell in an offer — and they have talked all summer about building a team with Towns, Edwards and Russell around Simmons — it would not appear to be the magic bullet move that Morey needs to part ways with one of the best defensive players in the league … yet.

This does not make much sense on the Minnesota side of things as there is an old adage that says you must give up talent in order to acquire talent. If the Timberwolves truly want Simmons, they will have to give up at least one of those guys–probably Russell–to make that move happen.

Unless they can get a third team involved, president Daryl Morey will not settle for anything Minnesota offers for him. -- Yahoo Sports.

I think Daryl Morey should be fired or stepped down let Elton Brand run as a GM take less offers for Ben Simmons he knows his value is low probably take best offers from teams willing to offers less than five first round picks and take one or two first round picks + all star potential

Daryl Morey asking prices is ridiculous.

Morey should be fired for trying to get the most out of his 25 year old 3x all star? That’s crazy.

We realistically know nothing about what Morey will really take. We know the nonsense that is leaked to the press that is used for leverage. We also don’t know where that leak came from.

If Minny won't include Towms or ANT there isn't much to talk about. Russell isn't attractive, anyway.

Lol morey should step down and let the guy who built a line up Simmons/ Josh Richardson/ Harris/ Horford/ Embiid take over the roster building. Comical. Different beast. Same nonsense.

@xxx. Russell is probably the most attractive PLAY-MAKING PG available in any trade package offered so far. McCollum is probably a close 2nd.

That probably will not change unless Lillard, Fox or Beal become available or Philly is willing to take on salary for a John Wall.

13 Sep 2021 20:41:16
If Houston was willing to part with Wood as well, I think that would be a pretty great return. Wall has become a very underrated player. He averaged 20 and 7 last year. His health is obviously a huge concern. But if Phili is getting value and Wall is darn near a throw in for salary? I’d think about that.

McCollum and Covington, or Russell and [insert decent role player] are good returns too. Morey still has options, and they’re not bad. They’re just not superstars. He’s not getting a -better- player back for Simmons+stuff like his goal seems to have been.

GM Morey is too picky. They could get any players in Sactown aside Fox and Haliburton, and get multiple 1st rounder from Minny. Same in GS, they ask too much (Wiggins, Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody and 2 1st rounders) .

Im also getting tired of Simmons complaining and being problem for Sixers.

I hope he will be traded before training camp.

Morey is SMART! He made the trade value of Ben extremely HIGH to weed out all of the Bullsh1T trade requests from other teams looking to screw the Sixers over. If he was smart he should have taken the Draft day trade from The GSW of Wiseman, Wiggins, Poole and the 7th and 14th Picks plus future consideration ( (Sixers wanted 2 future 1st Rnd Picks but that’s not going to happen)

( (Those picks turned into Kuminga and Moses Moody. Kuminga is NBA ready and would only sit a year behind Wiggins in Philly as we evaluate Wiggins talent on Defense. (he has offense) . Plus in this trade Philly would receive a great back up for Embiid since he is injury prone.

GSW would have got their man and then need to figure out if Ben can really shot or not. I would have given GSW Shake Milton or Springer to satisfy them getting a shooting guard in return.

If not this trade then its best they wait and make the Sacramento trade: Halliburton, Hield, Bagley III and 2022 unprotected 1st Rnd Pick. For Simmons. And if SAC request Maxey or Thybulle then Sixers should receive a 2024 unprotected 1st Rnd Pick as well.

Those are both FAIR TRADES…….

THOUGHTS……….?

I SERIOUSLY doubt GS was offering all that for Simmons even without the future draft considerations.

And Philly is not getting Halliburton if the Kings are trading Hield. Kings do not have the wing depth to give up both especially considering how Simmons will not shoot from outside.

Hield, Bagley, 22 unprotected first, 24 lottery protected first is the most the Kings are going.

And I doubt Philly will take this because it does not provide them the playmaking PG that Philly will need with the departure of Simmons.

I am pretty sure Kings are mostly out of the Simmons trade unless they are just a third team sending Hield to Philly for pieces that Philly gets from the third team. Something like Simmons to Portland for McCollum + Covington + picks and Covington + picks to Sacramento for Hield.

Philly starting 5

McCollum
Hield
Thybulle
Harris
Embiid.
