Why would Atlanta want to blow it all up. If healthy, they’ll be one of the best in the league. No one even really even knows how good they will be. Give it time. Besides, it’s an overpay for Simmons (most over-rated player in the League) and there is only one ball (not enough for Sexton and Young) .

Quick addition to last comment. I can’t see the Hawks taking on the contract extension for Porter.

I get it’s a lot, but why wouldn’t you want Porter’s extension. He just averaged 19 and 7 on 54/ 45/ 79 shooting. He takes even another half step forward and he’s pushing his way into top 10 player conversations in a year or two.

Not a knock against Porter. Of these trades Porter was probably my favorite. I just can’t see Atlanta continuing to spend with another big contract extension. Atlanta spends when they have to. Still a smaller market.
