Jaylen Brown is easily the best player that the 76ers have any realistic chance at getting in exchange for Simmons. Here's what I'd offer:

76ers get Jaylen Brown and Dennis Schröder

Celtics get Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, and an unprotected 2022 first round pick

The 76ers get a new point guard and a fantastic wing. The Celtics get the playmaker and defense they need, a promising young shooter, and a first round pick. It's an aggressive trade for the 76ers, but I think it's time to get aggressive in order to move on from this situation and start building chemistry with a new group.

They don't have a realistic chance at getting Brown. Boston is not trading him for anyone who could potentially become available, not Beal, not Lillard, not Towns, not Simmons.

Simmons doesn't have that kind of value. Not even close.

Not Towns? Cap. I can agree with not Lillard/ Beal because they’re older and more expensive. I’d put Simmons as a maybe if the price is right. The truth of the matter is that Tatum and Brown can’t lead a team to a championship without a great playmaker distributing the ball between them. The Celtics’ chances of acquiring that kind of playmaker while holding on to both of them are slim to none. The way I see it, one of them eventually has to go.

Some of these great players just don't end up getting the kind of return that we think they will. Boston's third best player right now is a center who is signed for four more years after this at reasonable money. If you bring in towns, does that make them a championship team with Tatum and smart? No so you wouldn't do it. Can.

And there are serious questions about Towns desire.

11 Nov 2021 14:20:14
Tatum and KAT would complement each other nicely, whereas Tatum and Brown don't. Williams would be expendable if you bring in Towns, and he could potentially be dealt for a better playmaker. Maybe even include him in that trade and work in Dlo. A Brown-KAT swap wouldn't necessarily make them a championship team, but it'd give them a better foundation for a future championship team.

There are a lot of people who have questions about Towns. Why are they never any good? Tatum and Brown have played very well together at times and it's led to good team success. These questions only arise when the team struggles. They do need to play better together more consistently and they are making a conscious effort to do that, and they are also improving individually. At their ages it's way to early to make any conclusions.

I think Nightcap questions and disagrees with all Celtics post.

I'm not even saying that I wouldn't do the proposed trade. I would seriously think about it. Brown is just not available and there's nothing I can do about that.

NBA, Probably 99% of the trades we post would not happen for one reason or another. I mostly only comment on Boston because that's the one team that I know and I know them well. I have opinions on other teams and their players, but I don't know anything about them with confidence.

11 Nov 2021 17:18:12
99% of everyone’s trades including sports writers, scouts, etc won’t happen to every detail. But based off value alone they could. No one knows what teams are actually thinking amd wanting.

11 Nov 2021 17:53:30
But depending on how close you follow a team you could have a very good idea.

11 Nov 2021 21:44:20
How? Everything you read or listen to is just a rumor. Just like trade ideas.

11 Nov 2021 23:43:53
No, everything you listen to is not a rumor. It depends on who you listen to.

12 Nov 2021 01:20:27
Yes, they report stuff they hear. They legit do not know everything the coach, gm or owner thinks or wants.
