Sorry raps fans, but you're players aren't as valuable as you think they are. Y'all need a star (no OG ain't it, fred ain't neither, stop playin wit pascal). Siakam shooting under 30% from 3 for second year in a row. OG eFG all time low with more offensively responsibility. Celtics got chemistry problems

Celtics: OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, Nando del colo
Raptors: Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, Aaron Nesmith

As a Celtics fan, I’d love that. But let’s be realistic here for a second: we all know Masai won’t trade both OG and Siakam for Brown. That’s simply not going to happen. The difference between Brown and OG is not Siakam (or the difference between Brown and Siakam is not OG) . Neismith is a non-factor at this point and Horford is cap-relief in 2022-2023, not much else.

Value aside, I don't really think it makes a lot of sense for either team.

Boston would be pretty stupid to say no tbh. Smart/ OG/ Tatum/ Siakam/ Williams would be really nice. Or small ball with OG at C and Dennis starting.

To the person who disagrees, please explain why it makes sense for Toronto to trade two good starters for one, or why it makes sense for Boston to trade their starting shooting guard for two starting forwards when they have Jayson Tatum as a starting forward already?

This site would be so much better if they got rid of those childish buttons in order to encourage more discussion.

@Nightcap

It surely makes a lot of sense for Boston.
Smart/ Tatum/ OG/ Siakam/ Timelord makes a lot more sense than the current starting lineup.

If Boston were to trade brown, wouldn't they target positions of need?

01 Jan 2022 20:35:40
I'm not talking about value from Boston's side, I'm just saying right now they need a shooter. This trade has them moving there starting shooting guard for two players who play the same position as their best player. It gives them an inbalanced roster. Of course they could make the trade if Toronto was so foolish, and then move one of those forwards, but it doesn't say that in the op.

01 Jan 2022 20:38:00
These types of trades are complete fantasy anyway, so what it should say is Jayson Tatum for those two players. At least that makes a little bit more sense.

01 Jan 2022 22:32:30
You’re really complaining about the possibility of trading for two guys that play the most desirable position in the league? Having 3 big wings that can guard 3+ positions is a dream for any team. That’s not an imbalanced roster in any way.

01 Jan 2022 22:33:50
“This site should take away the agree/ disagree because everyone always hits disagree to everything I write”

lol, maybe think about that and actually process that information.

01 Jan 2022 22:58:10
Yeah but people should actually talk about exactly what they disagree with. That's what makes a good site.

I'm not complaining about the possibility because there is no possibility because it isn't realistic. If Boston could get two good starters for Jaylen Brown, wouldn't it make sense if one of them was a little bit different than those two? With the rookie, Toronto right now has three very good forwards. So if that's a dream scenario, they should keep them and move on like that, no? I would think they should move one of them for a shooting guard or a center and balance out the roster a little more. I couldn't feel differently if Boston made this trade and was put into the same situation.

Toronto’s problem is that they don’t have a real #1 (unless Barnes becomes a real top 10 superstar) . I don’t think Boston has that issue with Tatum.

I would make sense to hope for a guy that’s different than a big wing. But the greatness of Tatum is he could play with just about any two players in the league and thrive. So you’re looking for just the most talent you can get. And I think OG+Siakam would be a huge talent increase in the team.

02 Jan 2022 11:27:14
If you think Tatum is that guy, and the Celtics do, you look to accentuate him. Right now they need a shooter and a distributor, which would open the floor and make his life easier. Trading Brown and not getting either is absurd. If Toronto was willing to give up those 2 players then a 3rd team would no doubt be involved.

toronto finally for the first time this season had the entire rotation available. management will be evaluating this group over the next month to determine what they want to do at the deadline. they won't be trading anyone until then, unless there's an opportunistic Dragic deal to be made. watch closely at how many minutes Barnes gets at the point spelling FVV over the next month. if they like what they see there it will change what Masai targets at the deadline. and if they like what they see with the team over the next month it's all the more likely they do nothing, or exactly what they want without compromising. management is prepared to be patient with most of this group. regardless of what you may think is good value or what the Raptors should do, what Masai is likely to do does not include any major shakeups at this time.

they need kelly olynyk and his 12mm salary. proven a-level bench scorer. olynyk and another wing. these guys can make a run.
