Celtics - Lakers

Brown and Horford for Anthony Davis, THT and a future unprotected first.

I know this is not original (ESPN I guess), but maybe it’s a decent trade.

What you guys think?

Salaries don't work, and I wouldn't give just AD for Brown.

Brown wasn't on the table for AD before so I can't see why they would do it now. Of course a big part of this is that it appeared that AD wanted no part of Boston.

Well, Boston has a new GM now Nightcap. And a few years can change someone’s mind.

Sure that's possible, but probably unlikely. Also, AD would seem to have less value now than before. But let's go ahead and call this realistic just for fun.

I like this for Boston, I love it when they own the Lakers future.

Brown would be great next to LBJ, but i don't think Lebron would aprove the Lekers trading AD.

Brown + Horford salary $53.8 mil (Brown has incentives)

AD + THT salary $44.9 mil

53.8/ 44.9 = around 1.20 which is less than the 125% authorized for the Lakers to take back using AD + THT's salaries.

Now the scary thing (to me) is that $9 mil additional salary increase the Lakers luxury tax bill from $45 mil to around $67 mil because the Lakers are repeat luxury tax "offenders". They are working with a 2.5 multiplier on salary beyond the luxury tax salary cap. Estimated too cost for the Lakers this season would be around $225 mil and this team may not even make it out of the play-in tournament.
