Three team trade between New York, Minnesota, and Indiana

New York gets D'Angelo Russell
Indiana gets Malik Beasley, Taj Gibson, Leandro Bolmaro, and a future 1st round pick from Minnesota
Minnesota gets Evan Fournier, Nerlens Noel, and Malcolm Brodgon

New York gets PG who is on an expiring contract. They can then take a stab in 2023 on free agents
Indiana gets a young shooter, a promising young player, and a first round pick
Minnesota takes on money to get a big who can be a better backup to Towns, but also play alongside him. Brodgon is probably a better fit, as he is more team oriented than Russell. Fournier replaces Beasley as the backup wing.

I like this trade.

I'm wondering why New York wouldn't just deal for Brogdan. if they are keeping Thibs Brogdan's defense would appeal to him more than Russell's offense. and I don't think the fan base will want to hear about how well they have positioned themselves for free agency "next year" again.

Idk how I feel about it for Twolves. After this they won’t have a playmaker to run the offense, Brogdon is best off-ball.

I don’t see the wolves trading dlo and Beas on 1 year deals for Brodgon (injuries) and Fournier (declining play) on 4 year deals. I think they’ll likely wait until the trade deadline to move Russell.

BeerBrewer - I would love for the Wolves to be able to trade Russell and then bring back Tyus Jones. Hero ball in the 4th quarter killed them against Memphis. Getting a team 1st PG should be their top priority in the off season.

I agree there are many better things they can do with $30m, but there is just 1 year left on his deal. I’d rather they let him expire than bring in more bad money on longer deals. I don’t know what Tyus will cost. He’s definitely played himself into a raise.
