the real problem with trading Kyrie is, who wants him? most GMs don't want to touch a max player who doesn't prioritize team and winning, and misses half your games due to injury or disinterest.

Russell is younger and a better teamplayer, so i could see the nets doing this.

The Dallas mavericks don't have the assets to get a perfect second star player. So getting a damaged but talented player like Irving is the best they can do.

I don’t see the Wolves taking on older players on longer deals for a couple of what will likely be late first given the presence of Luka in Dallas. To say nothing of the fact they’d be taking on about $7m more than they send out.
