Pistons don't need SGA they have Cade. they need to add another star caliber player (Ayton) and Murray with #5 (if Grant is traded) otherwise they can hold onto Grant and take Ivey or Mathurin at 5.

i meant a star big man since we fell out of the top 3. i think Ayton should be the main focus. you either trade Grant or keep him. probably be better if they kept him since the young team needs a veteran. get the guard at #5 (Ivey, Sharpe or Mathurin)

look at that starting lineup. Bagley is NOT starting. you assume we end up with Bamba.

the Pistons need a flat out scorer next to Cade. would SGA want to assume that role over being a PG? also, dealing Stewart really hurts the depth. Troy Weaver's big swing will be at Ayton.

if Ayton wants to be an all-star, he will choose Detroit. he may have to deal with 1 losing season but it will help him develop and this team in 2 years can be a playoff team.

his priorities should be getting paid and developing into a star C that he could be. people who say he won't go to a losing team, that was last year. Grant was hurt most of the year, Cade missed time and got off to a slow start, etc. a lot can change in 1 offseason.

adding Ayton and drafting at #5, trading Olynyk (for a pick in the mid to late 30's seems about fair value) so they can sign a backup wing (Gary Harris would be a good fit) since Diallo and Jackson likely will not be returning.

Well I highly doubt Detroit gets Ayton AND keeps Grant or 5

SGA already has played with a true PG in Giddey this year. Also SGA is a much much better 1 or 2 option than Ayton will be.
