This is standard procedure so the team can keep the player long term, it was the expected move. OKC doesn't want Dort to pull a Brunson.

Dort is not getting anywhere near Brunson money. he definitely deserves a raise but i would not go past 10-12 mil/ yr for 3 years with a team option for a 4th.

at this point if the Pistons can sign only ONE free agent, i would offer Dort 3 yrs/ 30 mil with a team option for a 4th year. i doubt the Thunder match cause A) they need roster spots, B) maybe its too much to pay for them since they probably won't need him as much and C) its Troy Weaver man him and Sam Presti are tight.
