Cleveland receives R. J. Barrett, Julius Randle & Evan Fournier
New York receives: Kevin Love, Caris LeVert & Cedi Osman

Why?
The big acquisition for Cleveland is Barrett, who could slide in the small forward position. Randle would come off the bench along with Fournier.
New York gets cap relief & puts Toppin in the starting line-up.

Why should NY trade Barrett? Maybe for a 3 or more 1st picks, but Cavs used them for Mitchel. Maybe Randle/ Fournier LeVert/ Osman, because NY free up CAP. But not sure if tbat makes sense for Cavs.

After giving the trade some thought, I realize that this is not the direction the Cavs should go. Randle would be malcontent in a bench role.

The reasoning for the trade is getting Barrett to be our SF. In order to entice New York, we absorb two albatross contracts in the process.
