Deal 1)Atlanta sends Capela (exp contract),Nance Jr(exp contract)Hunter or Bogdanovic if Bogdanovic add a future 1st. If Hunter no pick added.
Portland sends DeAndre Ayton,Jerami Grant
Deal 2)
Atlanta sends Capela,Nance,Hunter, Bogdanovic,Kobe Bufkin filler players contracts so the money works and a future first.
Portland sends Ayton,Grant,Afernee Simons. This allows Portland expiring contracts, removed log jam at key young acquired positions notably (C)Clingan and (SG)Shaedon
Helps Atlanta get bigger and stronger in the front court,Gives Trae a true pick and roll big that can shoot from the perimeter. Grant a grimey playoff forward depth at SF and PF. A legit scorer at (SG)with Simons although a little undersized

First trade seems better but it can be simpler. ATL does not need Ayton, since they can have Okongwu at 14m as a starter.
ATL: Capela (exp), Bogdanovic (exp next year) and Krejci
POR: Jerami & D. Reath (to make money work)
Jerami's value given his contract and the season is having is low, and given his age POR needs to trade him. Cap Flexibility a 1st and a flier on a young role player is enough value.

The Hawks are not winning a title with Okungwu as a starter. He is undersized, can't shoot, doesn't run the pick and roll with Trae like he needs from a big. Too many Hawks fans don't understand the importance of Trae having a pick and roll big that can shoot from the perimeter.

Only problem is that Ayton can't shoot from the perimeter, he is overpaid and lacks the drive to be a 3rd optin. If Okongwu can bulk up a bit his size is not an issue (see Adebayo, Draymond, Tristan Thompson) . He has the defensive potential to be a starter on a championship team, while Jalen Johnson can be the P&R Big on offense instead.

Ayton can shoot from the mid-range. I do see his lack of desire sometimes but his 7'1" frame against Giannis and other bigger forwards and centers is the biggest need. We just agree to disagree on Okungwu he is barely 6'9 his effort and hustle is great but he basically a young Capela which ain't saying much. Good role player good salary but you not winning with him.
