Make it Collins instead of Skal and that is a done deal at the trade deadline. Not seeing Coach Pop putting up with Whiteside for too long.

Maybe Nurkic-Labissiere for LMA

I like the idea LMA going back to Portland
Nurkic is better than Whiteside, but Whiteside-LMA is a better duo than LMA-Nurkic. and they can keep Collins as a sixth man taking a load during the regular season, So LMA can shine in the playoffs.

C: Whiteside
PF:LMA
SF:Bazemore
SG:Mccollum
PG: Lillard
Sixth: Collins
that's a scary contender.

I don't think that Whiteside is a better fit with LA than Nurkic. It's pretty similar. I actually think Collins is probably the best fit with him, but he's too young/ unproven to be in that conversation.

Also, I just wouldn't trade Nurkic for Aldridge. 28 year old Aldridge? Absolutely. But not at 34 with only one full year left on his contract.

Fredman - The reason Collins wasn't involved was because of the three 1st round picks and that I don't think the redundancy of having Samanic and Collins at PF would've been a benefit to the Spurs. Skal is a different player on a slightly cheaper contract, with one year left. They wouldn't have to use any cap space to retain Skal, unlike Collins.

3 draft picks at the #25 range don't have much value. Spurs would rather have Collins than one of the firsts since thay sre giving up 2 All-Star-ish talents. And actually Samanic and Collins are almost polar opposites. Samanic has good offense but poor defense while collins has great defense with below average offense.
