Why would OKC want Mitchell over SGA, giving up multiple picks?

Mitchell's ceiling looks a little higher and he's already an all star, but SGA is younger, bigger on a longer contract and has all star potential.

OKC could become slightly better, giving up future assets.

I feel like SGA is pretty close to Mitchell in terms of talent and how they are used. This solves a problem for Utah, but is a fairly lateral move for OKC, if it were straight up. The picks are too much. I just don’t see it at all for the Thunder.
