Thunder get Hayward, Milwaukee 2020 1st (Boston)

Boston gets Lee, Hardaway Jr., 2020 Chicago 2nd (Okc)

Dallas gets Paul

Thunder shave salary to get under luxury. Hayward can still play but fits this team better than Paul.

Boston gets a two for one on wings. Lee is expiring which will help with future payroll.

Paul could be a great mentor for Doncic in Dallas. He's a veteran presence that could do them good and push them into playoffs.

Why would Boston want more wings?

It’s not so much about the positional fit honestly. Hayward eats into the payroll quite a bit. At season’s end, they need to pay Jaylen Brown and plan towards paying Tatum. Hardaway can provide a similar scoring touch the next two seasons and then opens cap for Tatum. Lee can be a three and D guy this year and open up some cash for Brown next summer. With Kemba on board, they need to plan carefully. Horford was a bit of a sacrifice already.

Okc turns a disgruntled Russ who’d be crippling to the cap in a few years into Hayward, three 1sts, 2 swaps. Wow!

Paul has the 3rd worse contract in the league. No one is giving assets up for him. Best case scenario, you can trade him for some smaller bad contracts.
