I may be in the minority, but I think this summer is time to trade Chris Paul. Mainly, bc I think he deserves a ring and the value is rebuilt enough to justify such a contract splurge. The right team could pounce. I have three teams that come to mind as possibilities, and I want to know the package you think is realistic. Or if you can think of a better team for him.

Chicago Bulls
-Have a few bigger contracts and an otherwise young team who like the Thunder could use his culture building and leadership. East team.
-A package would include some combo of: Porter, Felicio, Satoransky, Young, Hutchinson

New York Knicks
-They have the Leon Rose connection, a bunch of big contracts that expire sooner than Paul. Same as above otherwise with Bulls.
-A package could include some combo of: Randle, Portis, Gibson, Ellington, Payton, Knox

Milwaukee Bucks
-They are a legit contender already and have less tradeable big contracts to match, but they'd give him the best chance to win and could be a great fit.
-A package could include some combo of: Bledsoe, B. Lopez, Illyasova

My prediction:

Okc gets Randle, Portis, Payton, Knox, one of the Mavs picks

Knicks get Paul, Muscala, Nader, Burton

***OKC probably wants a pick and a young player bc of Paul's season, and I think this is the best combo they could hope for. That Mavs pick won't be super valuable and Knox has been a disappointment. But maybe the Mavs pick turns into something. And maybe Knox flourishes with a change of scenery?

***Knicks aren't giving up a TON to get Paul when you really look at their core. Most of these guys leaving weren't going to be there long term. But this move helps the young guys (Robinson, Trier, Barrett, Smith Jr.) and it helps open the door for bringing some names to New York.

Thoughts? What's a deal you could see?

Cp3 played well. I don’t see a contender affording him. I hate to see in knicks uniform.

I still don’t think anyone is giving up a young player (even a disappointing one) and a pick for Paul. He’s still in his mid thirties and owed two years 80+ million.

My opinion: his value has resurged to expiring contracts. But no more.

How can he get a ring in NY?

Salt Lakers, pawn shop. Pretty sure some old Knicks have had to hauk their rings to pay off debts.
