I was thinking something like Barnes+Holmes+Holiday+LotteryProtectedFirstRounder for Jimmy Butler.

But then I looked at that extension and started having some serious doubts.

Lottery protected pick for a star isn't going to work especially if you are not attaching an enticing player. It's a major downgrade for Miami and with Pat Riley there, he won't even consider this. And Sacramento would have doubts? Wow.

No way Heat would look at this without either Mitchell or the 2022 pick being unprotected. Even then I don’t see the Heat trading their best player (top 20 player) for this when they’re the one seed

Butler doesn’t seem like a good fit with either Sabonis/ Fox either as they’re not good shooters as well.

Just saw a trade on BR I thought was interesting; Barnes, Holiday, and a top 10 protected 1st for John Collins.

@The Warrior. Just not seeing a mid 30 Jimmy Butler being worth the $45-$50 mil salary.

Well Miami can still get a better return than your offer no matter what money is attached to Jimmy. He has proven to be a good leader on a championship contending team. He is worth way way more.

@The Warrior. The same use to be said about Russell Westbrook. How's that turning out as he has aged?

They’re only 1 year apart

Also the difference between Butler and Russ is Butler can win. You can build a team around him and he’ll be able you get you wins and make a playoff run. Butler has much better basketball IQ and makes smarter plays and isn’t an selfish as Russ.

Russ has 3 more years of "NBA experience" AKA more wear on the body.

Both have an "attitude" that wears on teammates which makes then necessary to be moved.

Butler’s attitude is more of a positive on the team rather than negative. His attitude brings the best out of his team. Which is why they’ve been to the finals and are 1st seed this year

Also why the Twolves made the playoffs the one year he was there.

The point of your comparison is always about contract. Butler and Westbrook are totally different type of players. Butler isn't selfish unlike Westbrook. He is always a positive wherever he goes.

And not just because he had this issue with Haslem and coach makes him totally available. His value isn't going any lower.
